Champion Of The State – Danielle

Danielle works as a Caseworker for the Department of Communities and Justice in Broken Hill and western NSW towns such as Wilcania.

“Every day is very different working out in the far west,” she said.

“We cover just over 60 children, and that’s not including aftercare. And we only have two full-time caseworkers.

“It would be amazing to have government-funded, domestic violence support, to then ensure that we can meet the needs of our families.”

Although Danielle has a tough role, she loves her job.

“I do love working with the families,” she said. “I love helping to support and break down generational impacts and break family violence.

“For a lot of our families, it’s generational, it’s ongoing, it’s been happening for the past 10 to 20 years.

“It would be incredible to have more support, more caseworkers, and just more funding to support our families.”
Danielle is a Champion of the State.
