PSA member Jeff Fox had a huge effect on the state’s justice system.
For more than 50 years, long-time PSA member Jeff Fox was found working in the NSW court system all over the state. “Jeff had been with the Local Courts for just over 54 years with a career that spanned decades and started in 1968,” said Renae
Elrington, Director, West South West Region of Courts Services in a message to colleagues after he passed away. “Jeff supported his community and his colleagues by providing a high level of expertise.”
Jeff’s career in the legal system began on 30 January 1968, when he started at Newtown Court as a Supernumary. At the same time he passed compulsory job
training to secure promotion in the Public Service he was to call his workplace for the following half-century-plus.
This career took him all over the state, working in regional and metropolitan courts alike in permanent and relieving roles.
In 2000, Jeff resigned from the courts, only to return two years later, taking up a role in Dubbo.
Away from work, Jeff enjoyed golf, then was involved in his sons’ football clubs as they grew up.
He was a keen reader and a Mason for more than 45 years.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; three children, Stuart, Duncan and Laurinda; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Chelsea and Carson.
