PSA says school staff have a role to play in safer labs.
The Public Service Association (PSA) has alerted members in schools about their employer’s webinars on chemical safety.
In the meeting the Chemical Safety Officer (CSO) role was raised, with attendees told it could be designated to a School Administrative and Support staff member, for example School Administrative Officer Science.
The PSA has been in consultation with the Department around this safety package along with our PSA SAO Science Advisory Group delegates and we have been providing input into the development of the package.
The PSA will hold an online meeting to get members’ feedback to inform the union’s position.
