Emma works for the NSW Department of Education as Senior Programs Officer.

“I work in Early Childhood Outcomes in Education, focusing on the provision of high-quality early-childhood education and care throughout the state,” she said.

“I lead a program that supports early-childhood services that increases the quality of their teaching practices.

“A typical day involves is thinking about the ways we can better support early-childhood teachers and educators in their practice.”

Emma’s role is important as high-quality early-childhood education benefits all children, particularly those experiencing disadvantage. The work these members do today has lasting benefits for NSW.

“I like my job because I believe all children deserve access to quality education,” she said. “Ninety per cent of your brain development occurs before the age of five, so these years are so important.”

Emma is a Champion of the State.
