PSA-negotiated deal means more money in workers’ pockets.

Thanks to a provision negotiated by the Public Service Association (PSA), public sector workers will be paid $1000 extra in July 2026.

The one-off payment is due to the March quarter Sydney inflation rate exceeding 4 per cent.

The provision was part of the three-year pay deal agreed to in 2023.

The PSA is about to commence negotiating the next pay increase for NSW public sector workers.

Members in TAFE will also receive the payment as part of their enterprise agreement.

As income, the $1000 bonus is taxable.
