Anzac Day holiday granted to workers.
Workers in NSW will have an extra public holiday in 2026.
Monday 27 April will be a public holiday, as Anzac Day falls on a Saturday.
This brings NSW closer to the state to the south. Victoria gets two additional days off: Melbourne Cup Day and the Friday before the Australian Football League Grand Final, which is held in the Victorian capital.
The Australian Capital Territory has 13 public holidays, including days off for Canberra Day on 9 March and Reconciliation Day on 1 June.
