The summer break has delayed the Senior Official Wages Advisory Committee (SOWAC) and the Expenditure Review Committee (ERC) from processing TAFE pay increases.
“The SOWAC and ERC fall under the NSW’s Premiers Department and any pay-rise negotiations must go through committees to gain approval,” said Industrial Manager Siobhan Callinan. “The committee and government officials need to coordinate that the bargaining agreement and the resulting pay rise falls legally within legislation, and the NSW Government’s and Premier’s pay-rise parameters.”
