Proposed job cuts at gallery don’t paint a pretty picture

Proposed job cuts at gallery don’t paint a pretty picture

On a miserably wet August Wednesday PSA members and other staff at the Art Gallery of NSW met at the Centenary Auditorium to discuss plans by the State Government to cut 51 jobs.

The PSA called to update members on what information has been provided to the union, and to discuss the Change Plan.

Some members have been sent emails informing them they are ‘affected’, while others have had face-to-face meetings with senior management.

The new structure organisation chart provided on the day of the announcement has already been altered and reposted, and many members pointed out at the union meeting that there are additional errors in the chart.

Members have provided feedback and asked questions in the manner requested by senior management; however, none have received responses.

The PSA have noted all of these concerns and will ensure that senior management are informed of these issues without delay.
