The CPSU NSW drops in on the Kensington campus to drum up support.

PSA CPSU NSW Vice President Shelley Odewahn and Organiser Jose Vasquez joined Branch President Alister Wareing at the University of NSW (UNSW) to discuss the benefits of being a union member with Professional Staff.

Last year the Fair Work Commission approved the The University of New South Wales (Professional Staff ) Enterprise Agreement 2023, which included the highest pay increase in higher education in NSW.

In addition, there were improved Indigenous employment conditions, enhanced union representation and 30 days of gender-affirmation leave.

The new agreement includes stronger Change Management clauses to protect Professional Staff and their job security.

New provisions on redeployment include salary maintenance for 12 months for employees displaced in a new structure, and a new provision that sets boundaries on when Professional Staff can be contacted out of hours.

The process for arranging to work from home has been made less rigid.
