On Tuesday 16 December, the Cultural Institutions Advisory Group (CIAG) met in the Board Room at the Art Gallery of NSW for the Annual General Meeting. The meeting had been scheduled on 16 December so the group could meet with The Hon. John Graham, NSW Minister Special Minister of State and Minister for Roads, the Arts, Music, the Night-time Economy, Jobs and Tourism, and Minister for Transport.

Due to the horrific events at Bondi Beach on Sunday 11 December, the minister was unable to attend.

The CIAG group used the time designated for Minister Graham to refine the conversation they will have with the minister in the New Year. Following the PSA’s Assistant General Secretary Troy Wright and Industrial Manager Julie-Ann Bond’s appearance in the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Arts held on 10 December, questions related to the budget, particularly the inequity of the distribution of the arts sector budget; the legacy the Minister would like to leave the sector with; and the consistently poor People Matter Survey results (apart from the State Library’s results!) will all be discussed in detail with Minister Graham in early 2026.
