Sangita works for the Private Rental Pathway team at the Strawberry Hills offices of Homes NSW.

“I help homeless people to find homes in the private rental market,” she said. “I’m really keen to find them a property and get them some type of roof over their head.”

Sangita said in the current housing crisis, it can be “very hard to find properties”.

She said community housing providers don’t have many properties available at the moment, so her team is looking to get more clients into private rentals.

“We are heading out, putting our heads down and trying to find a secure property for them,” she said.

“I like my job. I really want to do, something for our community. This role gives me an opportunity for me to find a house for everybody who is struggling at the moment.”
