PSA CPSU NSW General Secretary Stewart Little has praised members at the State Emergency Service (SES) after it was revealed the agency had had its the second-busiest year on record.
NSW SES crews carried out more than 1100 flood rescues, and responded to a further 8300 flood-related incidents. The agency attended 45,000 storm incidents and performed 1200 general land rescues in 2025.
“‘”No private organisation could perform this work,” said Mr Little. “Our SES members epitomise the importance of a well-funded, professional public sector.”
