More money for disability-support workers.

Many members will get a substantial pay increase after the CPSU NSW, in unison with other unions, gained an extra $630 million in funding so the community sector can deliver wage increases to frontline health, disability and community workers.

The Gender-based Undervaluation – Priority Awards Review, which the CPSU NSW was part of, proved to the Fair Work Commission that several female-dominated sectors were unfairly underpaid.

This will see CPSU NSW members in the disability sector with healthier pay packets.

The Fair Work Commission’s decision will see workers employed under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHaDS) Industry Award 2010 will receive an interim wage rise of 15 per cent from December 1.

CPSU NSW members not under an Enterprise Agreement are covered by the SCHaDS Award.
