PSA asks for more time from Department.
The Public Service Association (PSA) has held a number of meetings over proposed changes to conditions at Child Protection and Permanency.
The PSA received a significant amount of feedback and questions from members. The union announced it expects more feedback would have gone straight to the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
“Having more Caseworkers working face-to-face with the children and families is needed, so is the support for those Caseworkers,” said PSA President Nicole Jess. “The Department needs more resources to provide the best care and outcomes for these vulnerable children and families, not just shuffling resources around.”
The PSA has asked for an additional two weeks to consult.
