Union says rumours about redundancy payments are untrue.
The Public Service Association (PSA) has been alerted that Parklea staff transitioning to Corrective Service NSW (CSNSW) have not signed the resignation letter provided by Management and Training Corporation (MTC), due to speculation that staff may be entitled to redundancy payments.
“With review of your Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, there is no entitlement to redundancy,” said the union in a bulletin to members at the prison.
The MTC documentation provides two options for employees, to accept ongoing employment with MTC, or to resign from MTC where employment has been accepted with the CSNSW or another employer.
The PSA advises that members should, if intending to transfer to CSNSW to accept the CSNSW offer and submit resignation to MTC, accept the MTP offer of ongoing employment if you wish to remain, or resign from MTC to seek alternative employment.
This staff transition follows the return of Parklea Correctional Centre to public control in October 2026. It was privatised in 2009.
