Union looks into plans by Multicultural NSW.

The Public Service Association (PSA) attended a meeting on 25 August 2026, hosted by Mulitcultural NSW (MCNSW) regarding a restructure within the Information and Communication Technology team.

MSNSW claims the proposed restructure will ensure a fit-for-purpose model for the delivery of all information technology services across the agency. The agency has stated it is implementing a sustainable team structure with improved reporting lines and clearly defining all roles and responsibilities within the team.

Additionally, the MCNSW aims to introduce a cyber security and business partnering role.

The PSA is worried the process may result in one employee being declared excess.

The union has called upon members of the Information and Communication Technology team to share any concerns or thoughts on the proposed restructure through the consultation process outlined in the Change Management Plan.

Consultations close on 8 September 2026.
