Service NSW members win praise

Minister singles out agency staff.

PSA members at Service NSW have been commended for the work they have done quickly assisting members of the public after events as diverse as cyclones and murder in a shopping centre.

The Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, Jihad Dib said staff helped tens of thousands of NSW residents in the last 12 months.

The Minister praised the agency for helping 23,000 people with cost-of-living Savings Finder rebates, and more than 140 businesses supported for acute crisis in the aftermath of the violence attack in Bondi Junction. A rapid response team with the Business Bureau helped northern NSW businesses whose supply chains were disrupted due to a fire ant infestation.

Ninety public servants and 25 team members of the Business Bureau helped people affected by Cyclone Alfred and the mid north coast floods to replace lost ID and apply for hardship grants.

“We have always known our members in Service NSW do great work for the people of our state,” said PSA CPSU NSW General Secretary Stewart Little. “It is heartening to hear others share this pride.”
