Initial reclassification has been won for members.
After a statewide campaign by the PSA, a number of Child Protection Workers have received an upgrade and, with it, better wages.
A Determination produced a short-term reclassification of grades, which aims to increase recruitment of caseworkers. The Child Protection Award discussions will examine a more extensive reclassification for Caseworkers throughout the agency to address retention, as well as workload.
“When traveling around Community Services sites, Delegates and members have raised several questions surrounding increments and their interaction with the agreement gained by the PSA reclassifying Grade 3 Caseworkers to Grade 4,” said Assistant General Secretary Troy Wright (pictured), who was heavily involved in the campaign throughout the state.
