Training Keeps Members Up To Date With Amended WHS Regulations

PSA CPSU NSW courses contribute to safer workplaces.

New regulations put the onus on employers to create a workplace free from psychosocial hazards, such as bullying and other work health and safety (WHS) hazards.

Keeping members safe is just one way Delegates can make a positive contribution to the workplace,” said PSA CPSU NSW WHS Officer and Educator Suzanne Mathers. “Our Dealing with Workplace Bullying course is designed to assist members and Delegates to understand what constitutes bullying and how to prevent and manage bullying and harassment at work.

“We look at relevant legislation and guidance materials, incident reporting and practical strategies and processes that can assist workers.”

The PSA CPSU NSW also conducts five-day Health and Safety Representative (HSR) courses to keep WHS issues at bay. This course is only available for elected HSRs.

One-day refreshers are available to those who complete the course.

There is a Women in the Union course that addresses WHS issues such as sexual harassment.

“If you want to do more to make your workplace better for your colleagues, union training is a good place to start,” said Ms Mathers.

“We will be updating our calender for the remainder of 2023, so please check out www.psa.asn.au or www.cpsunsw.org.au or you can email us directly at [email protected].
